Final days - game over

Not qualifying to the olympic´s and not reaching goals made the final days more work than fun. Tim´s C-final was ok, I am happy with his moral for pushing on the C/D Semifinal and C-final. On C - final the 1000m split was 3:20, so the necessary speed was there to qualify, but as it is he didn´t. LM2x had again good races and bad races. C/D semifinal they had a good race and on the C-final they had a bad race, result 18th place. That was not so good. I thought that they could fight to win the C-final, based on the good races before it, but they did not cathch the good rhythm and eventually lost the race.

There was many good performances from other teams or rowers, here just few of them...
Mirka Knapkova had a new race tactics, and won her 1st world tital after a commanding performance. Australian LM4- shower exceptionally good technique and flew to clear victory at the class that normally is very tight. Greek LW2x won by big margin. They have improved their technique since Beijing a lot, and like I said earlier on my blog, Alexandra Tsiavou is the current queen of LW rowing. They are favourites for London. Race in M1x was really hot, Mahe Drysdale grabbing the title at the line against last years Champion Ondrej Synek, who after one slept night said thet next year he will be better. Personally I am very glad for the Czech LM4- who took a worthy 8 place and qualified to OG. M4x was close, but did not quite have the speed to reach top 11. Hopefully next year in Luzern at final qualification they can nail it , as well as we, and many others, including also Finnish W2x.

I sit now at Ljubljana airport and wait my flight home. I have to admit that I feel exhausted and month

with family feels now like an excellent idea.
