4th place finish

4t place often brings certain sadness to athletes faces. After yesterdays final at 4x I did not see this sadness on my athletes faces, in fact they were delighted over their improvement over the season, over every race. Finishing this race, for the 1st time they were able to sprint to the line really together and earn the 4th place by getting half a boat in front of Poland. Boys raced with their heart and soul, and 4th place finish was not disappointment rather than achievement, they know their speed now and yet there is a lot to improve!

These boys are exceptionally mature athletes. They are able to focus to improvement and the quality of training process instead of immediate results. It is a joy for the coach to work with them. Crew has great motivation and good potential for the future.

We will go on to the European Championships this Year, and try to improve further and challenge the mens teams. We know that competition in Portugal will be tough, but if we improve further we are satisfied.

I worked also for last 2,5 weeks with LM2x, that finished 12. This crew has potential for better, but they need more time together in the boat. There was not enough time for a quality process, and the boat never reached such a harmony that would make better results possible. Time will tell weather they will be given opportunity to go on. For this regatta, 12th place wes exactly where they should be on the results sheet.
